Bad management of GoDaddy Backorder Credits

This message goes out to the weak, uninformed domainer who is leveraging GoDaddy backorder credits like they were grocery coupons.

You do realize that by using your backorder credit a day prior to the close of auction you are announcing to the whole world that you have bid, and you have further disabled anyone else from using the credit? Most importantly, you are letting every other domainer and end user in the world know what is being bid on and therefore, increasing the likelihood of more bids?

At this point I am so miffed by this behavior I am going to bid up everytime I see someone do this. Get with the program and keep your bids hidden until it is time to pounce!

Unless GoDaddy's changed their policy recently, all backorders and resulting auctions (if multiple parties backorder the same domain) are private. Can you show evidence to the contrary?

Edit: Nevermind. You're talking about backordering GoDaddy-registered domains before they hit their redemption period, and I'm talking about pendingDelete domains.

I am really amazed about how many bids on domains I see across all backorder services -- GoDaddy, NJ, SN, Pool.com, etc. -- so long before an auction's conclusion. There's absolutely no reason to bid on a domain more than 5 minutes prior to its auction end-time unless either (a) The auction ends at some ungodly hour like 4am in your time zone (or at time you'll be occupied with another engagement), or (b) The domain already has a ridiculous number of bids.

Correcto-mundo Josh! People are using BO credits for placing their bid before the pre-release/expiring auction ends, often 8 hours or even days before auction.

Today's dumb telegraphed bids:

homesforsalebyowner.net
supervolcano.org
thefurnituresource.com
sexylily.com

I sure hope nobody finds out about these!

Also please note about 10 other very bad domains were also bid on in this manner which aren't worth a nickel each, so they aren't posted here.
