I am new to this forum. I want to know when Snapname shows a particular domain to be backordered by some date, is that mean, if i am only backordering the name, when the date expires, I will obtain the domain or not? Please explain to me.

"If", snapnames catches the domain when it expires/drops, and "IF" you are the only bidder, then you should win the domain.

however, IF there are other bidders for the same domain name and snapnames catches it, then there will be an auction and the highest bidder will obtain the domain.

you may want to check where the domain is currently registered, as that may determine which backordering service will most likely catch the domain.

If it's a domain you feel is worth $70, backorder it with Snapnames, Pool, Godaddy and NameJet

That way you have the most registrar power to catch it.

in my personal experience, godaddy backorders are junk and not worth the cost.

Just check the whois first.

If the domain is at Godaddy or Wildwest, then of course go the Godaddy auctions route.

Unless of course it gets no bids, and you want to chance it and try and hand-reg it.

Well it depends on quite a few factors. Is this an expired domain (still renewable) or is it a pending delete name? Which Registrar is it with? Some registrars have a tendency to pull their expired (but renewable domains) from the auction, ie TuCows. How many days expired is it? Also, it usually takes SnapNames a couple of days to process the paperwork.
