Where is the cheapest place to backorder a domain name?

I'm pretty sure that any site you go to the cheapest you will find is around 17-18$. There are a few that charge more. I doubt you will find any cheaper.

Did they not capture the name or was the auction price to high?

I dont like the thought of an auction but I guess i will give it a try.

Godaddy.com - < $20, but not the most successful with high profile old TLD names.
Enom.com Club Drop - Pricing varies with your normal reg fee, but one of the top 3
Namewinner.com - < $60 but higher on auctions.
4domains.com - $60 only info/biz/us
Snapnames.com - $60+
Pool.com - $60+


Most others are not worth considering, except maybe domaincatcher.de if you are in fact at registrar who they cater to.

For high quality domains I would use POOL, Namewinner and Snapnames.
For smaller traffic ones I would go for ENOM and Godaddy.
