BabyOven.com Whats It Worth?

What do you think of this Domain BabyOven.com?

I really don't like this domain name it brings up images of 2 things that never should be put together. I guess if this was like an actual product per say like.....a small oven it would work but after searching there is no product called "baby oven"...........what the search did reveal was a horrible news article on a father putting his son in the oven cause he was high and drunk........I would say zero value and perhaps in bad taste if you registered this name cause of the recent news.

I thought the same thing as usualcliche when I first saw the name. What was your reason for registering? No value, and grace delete if possible. Creepy domain name.

yes, the phrase "a BUN in the oven" is still (i think, although I AM old/out of touch) used/appropriate. but a "babyoven" just seems.... icky and cheaper than regfee.

Wow I feel Like I have to defend Myself Now... I did not want to offend anybody or likewise upset anyone, I myself Have a 7month old baby Girl and the last thing that crossed my mind was sick news stories...

I bought the domain to develop, I am a trained chef and want to start my own brand of healthy home cooked baby food I also saw the name as one in the oven meaning to be pregnant....

I'm sorry if anyone was upset by this, but no harm was meant...

thanks for clarifying Brad and good luck! hearing it "in context" of your development plan it "could" work but, to be honest (imho), it will be an uphill battle against the initial image/meaning that many will come up with..... babycooking, babycuisine etc wouldnt do the same, but "babyoven" just sounds off. best of luck with your project!

I'm sorry, but my first reaction was to laugh.

I'm sure it made sense to you when you reg'd it, but the words "baby" and "oven" don't go together. As the previous posters mentioned, it conjures up some pretty horrible images, which aren't funny at all, but the sound of the name itself strikes me as funny (and illogical).

I think sometimes we all get a little ahead of ourselves when we happen upon a name that's available, but before spending the $8 (or whatever), we have to stop and ask ourselves:

1. Does this name make sense to me? (hopefully the answer is yes)
2. Would this name make sense to anyone but me? (If not, don't bother. If you're not sure, ask someone).
3. What is the first image that comes to mind when hearing this name?
4. Does the name not only make sense, but is anybody out there actively searching for THIS product or service?
5. If so, how many people are searching and have a need for this product? (If it's less than several hundred a month, it's probably not worth it).

At first, I thought you might be talking about ovens in the sense of toy-related kitchen products that kids play with (I used to have a mini-oven when I was little), but I think a better name for that would be "play oven." This name just doesn't work, unfortunately.

I think the development idea's great. The domain? My first reaction was that it was weird, and not in a good way. If you're establishing a new brand, you're better off with a name that generates a positive (or at least neutral) first impression!

Hello Brad,

No need to defend yourself after hearing your intentions things are much clearer. I wasn't out to like get you or anything but I wanted you to know my thoughts and if you plan to build a brand around the name what others may come across searching the net "not pretty". Now after reading your comments and others my apologies for the assumption. Now onto value .....I honestly wouldn't value the name at much more then regfee and I would highly suggest you start a brand around a new name that's not so weird.

Once again my bad on assumptions and I can admit when I was wrong and in this case I indeed was and my bad for that. Good luck with your brand and make sure you do a search on your keywords to make sure things like this don't pop up when your brand makes it big. Would be a disaster if you built a brand around Baby Oven and your brand comes up in the same search as the news articles :S ......So in conclusion make sure you do a very thorough search of your keywords to keep away from negative press etc.
