Automated Blogs

Hello,

I am looking to make automated blogs so i wouldn't need to keep writing content. However, spiders hate copied content, and if that happens then my chances of getting a high pr as well as traffic from search engines will be pretty much dead. Any advice / tips?

If you really want to have a truely successful blog then stick to writing unique "linkbait" content yourself that people will want to link to. Otherwise if you use the copied content that can be found on another million scaper blogs you are right you will most likely never reach your goal.

What if there is some unique content in the blog as well as copied/rss content? (such as every 3 copied content posts, there will be 1 unique post) Would that make things any better?

That would probably be better. I guess it all depends on your goal. If you want a blog that makes a few bucks via adsense or something that would probably be fine. However, if you want to create a blog that stands out from the rest..unique content is the way to go. Imaging all those other blogs out there using your rss feed to make their auto updating blogs

I've got a few totally automated blogs, one of them earns about $40 a month from adsense, and $15 from text-link-ads with no advertising done by myself...its got a good few thousand posts and has quite a few incoming links now.

Its not as good as a unique content blog, but if you have some spare domains, these are nice little earners as you have about 50 new posts a day.

Many people say it gets your site banned from Google, however I've had lots of automated blogs over the years and not one of them has ever been banned. :D
