There will be a lot of people registering .asia domains from now - so I thought it might be a good idea to list the best places to register them along with prices.

So far I've only looked at a few - so here they.... please add registrars you know who are taking .asia registrations. Mention prices and reliability if you can.

GoDaddy - $19.99
Moniker - $15.00

I just got an email from DynaDot as well...

Its $12.99 for those who don't have bulk. Cheapest amongst the top registrars at the moment.

I was about to post the same thing, had to use an old old Chinese id to buy one though. Only bought one myself, already got a little site up for it . Very surprised at how many names have been regged already, typing in random 3 Ls showed them all gone . Seeing a lot of questionable regs, would urge newbies not to buy more than they can afford to lose . Afraid this ext may turn into a Sargasso sea of parking pages like eu . I think the ext is at a too high of a price point for China and India, and places like Japan and Korea the people are too nationalistic to go for .asia even though their own ext is expensive . But if you can find a good key and it's gone in everything else and plan to develop, take a chance .

Yes, good advice and some interesting points. I have a feeling we'll see a lot of parked .asia sites in the not too distant future.

I've got 14 .asia's in total now, already started developing one and will start developing 2 more this weekend. The rest will be parked for a while. Unfortunately or not... domains are like real estate... we're all buying at low reg fee's hoping some day to make a profit - but unlike with real estate leaving them empty (parked) isn't going to do the industry / internet much good.

Anyway, lets hope this ext does well anyway.

:)
