There will be a lot of people registering .asia domains from now - so I thought it might be a good idea to list the best places to register them along with prices.

So far I've only looked at a few - so here they.... please add registrars you know who are taking .asia registrations. Mention prices and reliability if you can.

You should also mention if you need to have a contact in Asia in order to register domain there.

Both GoDaddy and Moniker require CED's (you need to have a contact in Asia).

I think EuroDNS provide a CED for you. Anyone with more info on this? Please share...

.ASIA Pre-registration or Live?!

I went to Moniker to purchase an AVAILABLE sampledomain..asia, but card was decline so i went to EuroDNS but the "sampledomain.asia" was UNAVAILABLE.

So i had no other choice but to go to Godaddy, and "sampledomain.asia" was AVAILABLE there, so i registered it, was billed, confirmed. BUT when i looked at my portfolio it showed as PRE-REGISTRATION STATUS. Next thing i knew, it was no longer on my portfolio! Just like in the Sunrise Landrush Application!

Thats really weird!

I tried to register a domain that shows as available.. still does... but registration fails at both GoDaddy and Moniker for some reason. I get the following error message:

Failed to create a Domain in registry. Error code: 2306 - Parameter value policy error"

Anyone know what this means?

it looks like the money has been taken out of my account but i can see the domains in the manage domains section of my account, what gives?

Thanks, thats really helpful. I checked that and you're right the domain I was after has been reserved for government use.

Sorry, no idea. Most registrars tell you whether you have the domain or not either immediately or within minutes.

You should try to contact them, maybe via telephone. Good luck.

I use my creditcard to fund the moniker account, my carditcard bank has confirmed I have paid but I did not get the money in my moniketr account. Frustrated.

Arrr!! I hate that. Happened to me with Whiz.in once - by the time my funds cleared the domains were already taken.

Anyway... I've been using PayPal to fund Moniker, works immediately. If you have PayPal funds, give that a go (depends how badly you want the domains).

i tried to register a .asia from moniker but the registration always fails why is taht ? i am paying via mnoiekr funded money and everything seems fine but the registration fails when i palce the order and money is funded back ?

Lalo - go to this site and check the domain name you're trying to register. As mentioned by OneWordOnly earlier in the thread - some domains are reserved - so this is the place to check it:

Godaddy refunds. I got my funds back when i registered a reserved domain.

Availability and Unavailability Blues.

What i found available in EuroDNS/Godaddy/Moniker is unavailable in EuroDNS/Godaddy/Moniker - and vice versa

Moniker failed for me too, I ended up using Dotster with the coupon "bargaincat.com" - 1 year for $16.99
