Article.pro

My very first appraisal thread! I hope to get nice reactions :)

Article.pro is the name I registered today, and I am busy developing the website of it.

Google shows a nice list of: 1,320,000,000 results for the word: article

So did I check the OVT of it: 12690 searches made in the month March for the word: article

So I hope it will turn out great, as I am busy developing a free articles website for it!

Thanks for reading and your future appraisals!

Article is an excellent keyword and has gone in all the main extensions and quite a few ccTLD's as well.

Its hard to give a value on .pro domains, but recently there have been some high value sales.

I agree with the previous appraisal and think mid $xxx is in the right ballpark.

I like it BUT you are correct in creating value by building a real life website around it.
I certainly hope .pro hits the radar of others.
XXX now and ??? more if the site takes off.
Good Luck

Hey DomainLobe, thanks for your appraisal! I really think that right now .pro's are a little off-radar indeed, but when more domainers start buying them, the value of the premium names will only increase. I think more people will develop it than actually reselling it just like that. It'll get on radar very soon i believe!

Thanks again. Reps Added!

Im going to go the other direction on this one. .Pro was created as a domain for professionals. Article.pro doesnt quite fit it and to be honest, Articles.pro would be a better keyword. With the lack of substancial sales (Were talking only uber keywords) there are huge question markets surrounding this TLD. Consider how many reported domain sales there have been, and what has been sold. I think (as I posted in another .pro appraisal thread) that unless the price drops and people start to see more development, there will be only a little action on super keywords.

Hope this is helpful,

Justin

Thanks Ferman for the reminder!
.PRO has been in play (not at astounding levels but on the radar of some none the less).
NameBio is becoming a great resource.

domainspade:
Thanks for your point of view, but i still think, looking at the .pro sales listed by Ferman, that the .pro extention is wanted but very limited right now. Only the good and premium domain names are value in the eyes of businesses and maybe even some domainers. However not all domain names in that list were developed, and i am talking about a developed domain name like i am planning for Article.pro.

But like you said it is a problem that the reg fee's are that high and the extention isnt really advertised well... untill that day, i believe you should grab your chance and get your premium name while it is still possible. I believe that if you develop it in the right way, you can earn that registration fee back with monthly revenue or even from selling the domain name undeveloped (but then it'll be more difficult)

Thanks and Reps Added!

Well, I am very aware of the domains posted, lol - He took them from my website. And yes, you are right. Everything with development goes up in value. And yes, Im not doubting you could develop a phenomenal site and make your money back.

For sometime I considered registering a .pro (2 actually). But I still find so many solid keywords available. However, as it stands now, I am keeping with my 98% .com rule. And again, my appraisal was only my opinion. I cant tell you how many times ive been wrong... Good luck!

@smartpc: thanks

@domainspade: Thanks, well I am the same type of domainer with the %98 .com rule haha, but how can you explore other possibilities if you dont start exploring? I would say research as much as you can, make yourself a business plan or whatever, i know that you are aware of that. But if you think those 2 domain names you talked about are worth it, then go get them!
Make money by spending it!

LoL, I am all about it. But Im weighing risk and reward. Can I buy a $100 worth of .com and get a better return than $100 with .pro? Thats the question. and the truth is, barring a few domainers who had some insight and bought those uber premium keywords - Im not sure without development people will see returns on these investments. Lots of things must happen before this TLD will get in the lime light.... so time will tell. I'll either be kicking myself or tapping myself on the shoulder with "you did the right thing"

haha thats a nice thought, but you can always tap yourself on the shoulder when you decide to develop the name, whatever extention it is, it is all about the development and traffic it is getting, and my name article.pro is really helping me out with that, so i personally think i could get $xxxx from it when fully developed and with the correct SEO!

But indeed time will tell, but still, it is never bad to develop any domain name with any extention. :)

Thanks for the thoughts!
