Are These Hacks Custom?

I can see the Appraisal hack being custom, but what about:

The 'bump' hack: When a user wants to bump a topic by replying, instead of adding a reply, it edits the previous post and then bumps the topic.

Bump hack is from vbulletin.org. Not sure what it's called though. The chat room is from raidersoft.com. They provide instructions on how to integrate.
