:) I am just wondering if anyone has any code they go by in the world of domain buying or website developing. Any opinion or statement is welcomed no judgment should be passed here and do not criticize anyone’s post just looking for peoples ideas or feelings.

I personally have decided not to buy adult domain names. Just because I never how that might come back to in my future business plan and because I find it undesirable to brag to people i might have something profitable but then the name is offensive. I know it is just my just my decision.

I just wonder what others might go buy. Like a friend has a good business idea and u take the name before they start the business or...hell I can't think of much else.

Just a general question to see an overall opinion.
Once again I will restate; Any opinion or statement is welcomed no judgment should be passed here and do not criticize anyone’s post just looking for peoples ideas :)

Hmmmm.... No typos, trademarks or anything else that is risky.
No proxies, directories, image uploaders, ad pixels, font sizes or anything turnkey.
Nothing boring, over done or that I don't have an interest in.

I'm not too concerned about bragging or anything getting back to me. Most of my domains have some form of whois protection/privacy.
You can search the internet for me and come back with one or two domain names but that's it. None of my domains are linked to each other so you can't trace my domains that way either!
Most of my domains are purchased through PMs or regged directly by me. Safe to say, you'll only know about my names if I want you to know.

I never steal whole ideas - I may occassionally borrow part of an idea and improve on it or incorporate it into something entirely different but that's not "stealing".

Back to my list.... Nothing overpriced. I will only buy names I know I can develop and add value to or at the very least sell for a profit.
No offensive names but that doesn't mean I won't do an adult site ;)

Sometimes my rules are tough to follow.
I nearly bought a domain today that I found out was a typo of a Google website I've never heard of. It was a real bargain. A great fun name but I don't want to have to deal with Google anytime soon.

I also nearly bought another great domain name that I'm sure could be a big hit but I don't have the time for a project of that size. It's a great domain name - still for sale and cheap, so I may yet change my mind. (no you can't have it - don't ask!)

With all those rules, there's very little left. But at least I know my domains are quality ones that I want to develop or own, I am having some fun in the process, I'm happy and not broke. :)

I only buy names that I consider GR8....2 to 3 word names no typos unless they are really really good ...Wot is a GR8 example of someone with a GR8 typo :) ... what do I consider GR8 names??? Names that "sound" right when you say them...and make sense ...proper words...not made up...names that have future tech or marketability....something "in the news"....or something that targets the general publics interest.....I don't care about my "whois" info...I usually publish "for sale by owner" under it anyways...if I do not answer ...that is because I am currently concentrating on building my "inventory" NOT on Sales...

I "occasionally" target certain industries...and "employment sectors"....for domains...
When I do I make sure my names are VERY descriptive of those companies I intend to market (enough said on that subject)....

I concur with B33R ....Quote "I will only buy names I know I can develop and add value to or at the very least sell for a profit."/end Quote
