architect's self designed site

I just stumbled across this site and thought perhaps I could get some feedback on my site www.swinburnearchitect.com I am a small time residential architect and last winter I figured out enough of Dreamweaver to create my own website. I am too close to it to adequately critique and of course friends just say "looks good".

First off. You need to change the background color and centre the image. Honestly it does not look good with all the white around it. You need to do this with your whole site. Having all that white space make this site look unprofessional.

I can't tell what the site will look like once you have fixed the whitespace issue, but I think it might look great. Though, you design changes a lot which is quite confusing when exploring the site. Some consistency wouldn't hurt anyone.

Overall just a few fixes and come back. Good luck!

I agree that the all white background is not looking good and not looking professional at all too .. You site concept and work is good but it need to be little more professional and filled with some decent colours too

Same issue here. Go dark on the background. Eventually have some very low opacity grid lines or eventually an architectural drawing in the backdrop - just make sure that it's almost invisible.

Other than that, the site itself seems very thought out - right on target with its visuals and flow.
