For a .mobi this one isn't bad. But that could be because I enjoy paranormal stuff though. However the only real key to .mobi at the moment is going to be development and I know that may sound like a broken record approach but with this extension I feel it holds very relevant regards. To me something this short and being a .mobi might make a good site for a proxy to surf anonymously on your phone. (Not really sure if that's capable however.)

At the moment as is though I think you could easily get registration fee or even mid $xx value for it.

Best of luck to you and Welcome to NamePros.

Thanks for your opinion. My view on the matter is slightly different. Due to the high key word relevancy related to this domain and with the correct SEO optimization it could attract good traffic. (the term "ghost" is listed 192,000,000 times in a google search). If one looks at ghost.info its attracting an average of 200 hits a day (not tooo shabby).

Even if this domain is not used for mobile users in mind its still a short and powerful and memorable domain. I will hold on to it for a while and see what offers I receive. Managed to grab it as it dropped last night. :) And yes I know estibot can be over-inflated and incorrect, but the estimate in regards to estibot for ghost.mobi is equal to $12 000. Now most of my sales (the few I have had) was done at about 10% estibot value. So I personally feel that this domain is a fair bit of a reg fee IMO. But thats just my opinion. :P Will keep you posted on the sales progress. :)

Welcome to NamePros!

It's my understanding that .MOBI is not where you want to be placing your bets if you are new to domaining. Most of the newer phones have web browsers that can display standard websites. This new trend has rendered the Mobi less than neccessary according to experts in the field.

Still, the ghostly strong keyword gives this domain value, if only as a novelty domain. The energy from this domain is strong, I say keep it and renew until the day comes it's ready to depart this World of cyber.

Low to mid $xx. undeveloped. IMO.

Best of luck with your future registrations. Oh...and Merry Christmas!

Thanks for your opinion. I'm hoping to sell it to someone who is after a strong keyword and not after a mobile website. As you are aware .mobi can be used as a standard domain for standard web-browsing. Once the SEO is completed this domain should sit on the top of a google search page with the search term relating to "ghost".

Merry Christmas to you too.

My thoughts are that once the second round of landrush is history, mobi names will edge upward again.

Domainsnapper, not too sure where you're getting your info, but mobi names are supposed to be developed for the small screen. Development "standards" are in place, although quite flexible. That's it's only reason for the tld existing. To let everyone know it will work on all mobiles...not just smartphones.

mTLD has the right to take down non-compliant sites. Sure, it's a long, drawn out process that will garner you wanings....BUT...all in all, if it ain't a mobile site, they can take it back.

I'd say your undeveloped name should be in the lower end of the $XXX range. As stated, the market is swamped withj great names at this moment....but this won't last.

Best of luck!

Is this domain in your control yet ?

The reason I ask is we only allow domains already owned/controlled by members to be posted in this section , And the whois info is still showing as SnapNames currently for me.

Sorry, the transfer has occurred today but the WHOIS hasn't updated yet. As you know it takes 2-3 days to fully update.

Thanks for all your opinions!

Thanks mate, you have come up with the most positive response so far. :)

But in all honesty I'm aiming around the $500 USD mark, but will develop first and see how much clicks I can get out of it a day. Most of the domains I have pay themselves off in a week, so I wont loose anything. :)

Have a good Christmas. :)

Good name, pain to type

I was interested in mobis a short while back, and had noticed a certain trend in the websites I was willing to visit on a normal cellphone (standard 12-key)- It depended on how hard they were to type. I went into detail in a post here:
http://www.namepros.com/dot-mobi/496997-an-interesting-approach-good-mobi-domains.html

But the basic jist is this. Every time you have two consecutive letters on the same key, it's a pain in the ass- you either have to type another letter and delete it, or wait 2 seconds before your phone automatically goes to the next letter. Letters that are deeper into the specific letter are less of a pain, but can still add irritation to the act of accessing the domain. So to type "ghost", you type
4
(wait 2 seconds)
44
666
7777
8

Obviously none of this matters when people are following links to the site. But it means type-in access is going to be inhibited. I know this doesn't really matter on smartphones- But those can access regular web pages without much of a problem, so they wouldn't be your target audience anyway.

As a sidenote, wtf is with the "mobi" extension? it suffers the same problem.
