I'd like to propose that anyone starting a thread requesting an appraisal should stop by and give at least two appraisals for every one request. Some threads in here have had 20 views or more and not one post left. If your going to bother reading it - leave a post. One appraisal isn't worth much... if several NP members all agree on $xxxx amount it's much more helpful to the OP. Let's try to work together here. It'll behove everyone! Thanks... just an idea.

Very valid suggestion. Each person that posts - is trying to get some help, and the wisdom of the NP members is greatly appreciated. Ok lets start -

HELPCREDIT.co.uk

Thanks! :)

That's fair enough BUT... aren't you asking for an appraisal because you're unsure on the value of domains, therefore aren't in the best position to be appraising others? I know that's certainly the case for me.

For me personally, I rely on seasoned domainers who have been around a while and know what they're talking about!! But then I only post appraisal requests when I actually need them and not for every domain that I pick up. And I learn from reading the appraisals of others of course.

I understand the frustration. But you have to understsand that the majority of readers do not have the experience or knowledge to give any kind of appraisal that would help you. Do you really want dozens of appraisals that are just fun guesses? Or do you want only people who are qualified to give an appraisal, even though that may be one out of 20 readers? I vote for the latter myself...

You can state that you're a newbie. You can still have an opinion as to the marketablity and give your suggestions for development or endusers if you can think of anything. If you don't know a $$ amount you don't have to leave one. The are plenty of vets in here that request appraisals too. We all know that the only true appraisal is payment from a buyer. Even then, perhaps you could have gotten more. Maybe you got lucky; the name was only worth something to that particular buyer. This forum gives us an idea of how others percieve our names. We wouldn't have bothered to reg them if we didn't personally think they worth something.

I agree...Some feedback wether it be with a dollar value or not is better than nothing at all!!!

I agree with AD. Anything would be nice. Even for newbies who watch their threads get tons of views and no comments.
Seasoned domainers especially should even if they do think their crap.

I usually answer the appraisals, but there are some certain cases in which I cannot give one, especially in gaming domains etc.

I recently posted an appraisal for casino.com.kg and poker.com.kg, I really do not know about its value, and after one day I bumped it (one thing I hate doing), and still got no answer. It is really frustrating.

Good point, Allen

I'm not saying that you have to leave a comment in every thread. Especially if you really have no idea. I understand that completely. Just keep looking around until you find a couple of threads where you have something worthwhile to say. Your example is a great one. I know nothing about .com.kg's - Another helpful way of commenting would be to report what you've seen the same or similar name in another TLD sell for.
