Domain Details:

  • Domain:InvestmentsNYC.com
  • Registration Date: December 3, 1998 (27+ Years of Age)
  • Niche: Finance / Wealth Management / Real Estate / Private Equity
Key Highlights:

  1. Ultra-Aged Legacy Asset: This domain was first registered on December 3, 1998. It is a rare legacy asset from the early days of the internet, carrying immense SEO trust and historical authority.
  2. Proven Business History: This is not just a parked domain; it was an active corporate website for an investment firm for many years. It has a clean, professional history as shown in the attached historical screenshots.
  3. Premium Geo-Service Combination: It perfectly pairs a high-value financial keyword (Investments) with the world’s leading financial hub (NYC). This is the "gold standard" for branding a New York-based financial institution.
  4. High Intent & Branding: "Investments NYC" is a high-intent search phrase. For an end-user in the finance or real estate sector, this is a turnkey branding solution that immediately conveys credibility.
Appraisal Request: I am seeking a professional appraisal for this domain. Given its 27-year age, corporate history, and premium niche, I am targeting a mid-to-high five-figure exit for an end-user.

  • What is your estimate for Reseller vs. End-User value?
  • How much value does the 1998 registration date and historical development add in today's market?
Thank you for your expert insights!
"I have historical screenshots from 1998 showing the active corporate site. Please PM me if you'd like to see them."

This domain was registered yesterday. When it was first registered is thus irrelevant as far as valuation goes.

"I appreciate your perspective as a Senior Member. While I agree the SEO juice might reset on a drop, the 'Intrinsic Value' of a 1998 finance-exact-match string in the NYC niche doesn't disappear. It’s about the brand's seniority and the trust it builds for an end-user in Manhattan. The fact that it was first hand-reg’d in the 90s proves it's a legacy term that has been in demand since the early web."

The domain's original registration date got reset after the drop.
This particular domain dropped several times, not just once.

Sorry but I don't see any "intrinsic value" based on past content.
Google "Site:InvestmentsNYC.com" and note how many pages are indexed from that domain.

If you’re only valuing domains by search volume, you’re leaving a lot of money on the table.
Exact match isn’t always about search volume — it’s about the right buyer. Not every asset is built for SEO flipping
Thanks any way for your input

There are many variations.

New York, NY, NYC, etc.

Investment, investments, etc.

Also, in both orders.

GEO term first is highly preferred in my experience.

Good points, Brad — appreciate you sharing your perspective.

I agree there are multiple variations, and geo-first can perform well in many cases. That said, “InvestmentsNYC” still reads naturally and aligns well with how firms brand themselves around the “investments” vertical first.

At the end of the day, it comes down to the right end user and how they position their brand. Different buyers will prefer different structures.

Out of curiosity, what would you consider a fair end-user valuation for this domain?

Always good to hear another angle.

Excellent name. It's good to keep for a while.
Value: post in the $1 auction name and if you are lucky it will be sold for $2

NYCInvestments.com, which I consider superior, is on the market for $3,099.
NYInvestments.com is on the market for $2,495.

But, the following are available to hand register -

InvestmentsNY.com
InvestmentsNewYork.com

I think your domain is close to those two, which no one thought was worth registering for $10.

Listing prices and hand-reg availability aren't reliable valuation metrics. Strong, natural brand terms operate in a different tier.

thanks Brad

There is really no point in asking for opinions when you have all the answers.
