Hey everyone, for those of you who have not seen my post yet about the new tool i'm going to be releasing please check it out, I still need some ideas for a domain name appraisal formula so that I can make an estimated instant appraisel tool on the site.

Check out the thread for more info.. : http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=40567

Let me know what you guys think, either reply their or here, does not really matter.

Thanks

I dont really like automated estimates. I tried a few and it said my doamins are worth $1200+

If you are looking to make something automated, factor in:
Search results on overture
tld extention
amount of words in the doman
amount of letters

and things like that

I think overture results, PR rank, Yahoo rank, google results, amount of letters/numbers, amount of words, tld extension, any junk letters?, etc would be good to be used

PR rank? If its not a develped site you cant have pr rank
So it doesnt matter. Pr rank would only matter if selling a develped site

Current forumula stuff.

Ok guys here is what I have down as part of the formula

First is Length of domain:

2 chars = +10
3 chars = +6
4 chars = +3
5 chars = +2
6-8 chars = +1

TLD Extension:
.com = +4
.net = +3
.org = +2
.info/us/names, all the rest... = +1

Words in domain
1 word = +9
2 words= +4
3 words = +2

Junk Letters in Domain
(ex. BusinessFtools.com) F would be junk letter
(ex. DriveLtkNow.com) LTK would be junk letters
0 Junk Letters = 0
1 Junk Letter = -3
2 Junk Letters = -5
3 Junk Letters = -7
4 Junk Letters = - 9
5+ Junk Letters = -11

Complete Exact Domain Overture Results:
5mil+ = +18
3-4m = +17
2-3m = +16
1-2m = +15
900k-1m = +14
700-800k = +13
500-600k = +12
400-500k = +11
200-400k = +10
100-200k = +9
50k-100k = +8
25k-50k = +7
15k-25k = +6
10k-15k = +5
7k-10k = +4
5k-7k = +3
3k-5k = +2
1k-3k = +1

OR

If more then 1 word Each word overture results averaged = (e.x)

=======
5mil+ = +10
3-4m = +9
2-3m = +8
1-2m = +7
900k-1m = +6
500-800k = +5
200-400k = +4
100-200k = +3
50-100k = +2
0-50k = +1

So lets run some example domains through the appraisel:
games.com = +2, +4, +9, +18 = 33 Pts
gametools.com = +0, +4, +4, +9 = 17pts
Car.com = +6, +4, +9, +16 = 35pts
SearchToFind.net = +0, +3, +2, +5 = 10pts

And so on...

I know this cant be even close to accurate, I just made this formula up real quick, I need your opinions on it, whats good/bad, what needs to be changed, added, pricing for pts, even something like "horrible system, cant do it this way" is good to know :). Anything you guys can throw out here to help me out, I'm not all that great at appraisel stuff, that is why I am posting here aswell :)

Let me know what you guys think, I will keep working until its as close to perfect as I can get it.

Thanks

Google PR?

Google page rank can't really be "checked" anyway other then the googlebar. I know I can do link back check though and list the amounts of established links... ?

Let me know...

IMO a very important factor should be the residual traffic, typos e clickthroughs, which the domain receives.
Also listing in maior directories, like Yahoo! and DMOZ should be a plus.
