A good way to know whether you are using the right words is to search for that particular word on google and see how many results you get. for the word "ample" for example, you'll get only 172,000,000 results, which is at the lower end of the spectrum.

Also, something (irrelevant to fixample.com) I wished I knew earlier is to avoid plurals as much as possible.
