Hello,

I've gone through the step-by-step guide on how to install PHP on my personal computer. The one I used can be found here:

http://webmonkey.wired.com/webmonkey/00/44/index4a_page7.html?tw=programming

Everything seems to go according to plan until I hit the step that asks me to test everything by running phpinfo.php (which is stored in the htdocs folder and contains <? phpinfo() ?> as its only content.

When I go to run this file I get a 500 Internal Server error. I've double checked everything in the tutorial and can't put my finger on where I must've gone wrong.

Can anyone here help? If you need more information let me know, I'll be happy to provide it. I'm really stuck.

Thanks in advance.

Do you have any .htaccess files? They will give 500 Internal Server Error if you make errors in them, or call directives from modules that have not been loaded.

Thanks guys,

Someome recommended PHp Home Edition 2 from sourceforge and it installed Apache, PHP and phpMyAdmin all in one easy step, so thats what I did.

Thanks though.
