I am buying a domain name outside sedo.

Seller wants to use sedo escrow service.
I said fine.

I made the payment to sedo escrow.

I want this domain to be transferred to my godaddy account.

Why is sedo asking the seller to push the domain to sedo???

I initiated a godaddy transfer.
All the seller has to do is approve godaddy email and send me transaction id and security code.

And the transaction will be complete.

So why is sedo asking seller to push domain to sedo???

I believe that, since SEDO is the escrow, they want to handle the procedure themselves.

So, they get the domain from the seller, they also get the money from the buyer and when all is secure only then they finish the procedure.

It's a matter of securing the goods I think. SEDO will transfer the domain to wherever you want.

Escrow.com never did this.

Escrow.com let the seller transfer directly to the buyer.

Sedo escrow wasting too much time.

Sedo should know better...they are in the domain business.

You do know that the 'proper' procedure is what I described earlier, right?
What escrow.com does does not mean it's also the rule.

anyway, I understand your frustration. Hope all goes well.

Yes, Sedo use their own escrow-accounts with all popular registrars by default...
This procedure is significantly faster for seller (he can receive his money the same or next day) + it is SAFE for him.

Escrow.com offers it also... but for additional fee (so-called "Concierge").

seller pushes to sedo acccount and sedo pushes to your account

that's how it works

The SEDO way is true escrow - ironic that anunt's avatar is a monkey (yeah yeah ape) because the full duplex escrow minimizes monkey business. Don't go bananas anunt!
