Anyone registering ...Z names..

What do you think about brandable names that ends in Z. Anyone registering them ? Do they have some value ?

I recently acquired footballZ and BasketBallZ. Both dot coms as they sounded nice. And I wanted a soccer name before the world cup begins.

What do you think in general about Z names ? Please show off your ZNames..

I have ClipsZ.com to promote VideosZ.com which works for me.
Since all good names that end with 's' are taken the 'z' is a good alternative.
But it takes more marketing/promotion to emphasize the 'z' in the name so people won't type the 's' version when they revisit.

I personally think they are worthless. Major branding is required and you can expect major traffic bleed to the proper spellings. If it was me, I would just invest in a different domain name.

I think they are ok if the regular spelling is unavailable or too much $$$....

I think it really depends on the word that you are adding the "Z" to... Something like "Newz" or "Girlz" works a lot better than "hockeyz" or "pencilz".

A little over a year ago, I sold a decent one for mid $XXX at Sedo (number + Z). I'm not sure what the owner is planning on doing with it. There is some value in these for resale, but like Spade said -- major branding is required and the developed website will lose traffic to the correctly spelled domain.

cookz.com & chefz.com both seem like horrible examples, but went for over $1k each.
Stockz.com, another one I think is silly went for $25k

I think some that relate to the "urban" market make more sense: kickz, ringtonez, beatz etc.

Confession: I have two myself, both 4 letter words, that I am still hanging onto.

It's quite common in hip hop culture to spell certain words with a "z", though as paxton said, something like "pencilz" is just plain silly.
