A few French are active on DNF, and purchasing French .com names and .fr domains. Possibly some of them are there and will answer... :hehe:
The problem with .fr is that it is heavily regulated but on the other hand many names are still available.
Regular people can't own .fr in France except some cases, so there was no recent big sales at this market. .FR expected to be open next year. May be only to french people.
There is a market for these names but it's very limited at the moment. Hopefully the French will relax the rules one day and will open up like .es so we can expect a more vibrant market
If you can fulfill the registration criteria I think it's always good to have some ccTLDs in your portfolio. For .fr then I would say it's a long-term investment but it should pay off in the long run. Same goes for .ca, there are still good names available and the market should mature over time :]
