Ok im trying to visit some forum but it doesnt let me. I contacted the owner and he told me that he put one of those blocks that doesnt let people that have a dynamic (i think... its either static or dynamic... dynamic means changing right?) IP. Since im using dialup (aol :kickass: ) it doesnt let me set a certain IP. Is there anyway I can gain access to this site?

Umm im sort of stupid when it comes to this stuff what is a public proxy exactly?

basically a proxy is an extra connection between you and the internet. instead of you going to a site, you go to the proxy and it goes to the site in your place. what browser you using?

Im using IE connected through AOL using my Network connections.

How would I go about using a public proxy?

I use aol too, and it sucks. I know of a few proxies...let me conjour up the links.

search google for 'free proxy' or something like that. you can find a site with lists of public proxies.

go to start - control panel - internet options - connections - lan settings

at the bottom of that window is the part for proxies. just enter the proxy ip/port and and ok it. make sure the box above the fields is ticked too to use a proxy. open IE and if its all working, your homepage should appear. if it doesnt work, odds are that proxy doesnt work so just put a different one in till you find one that works

Or you could use a site such as https://proxify.com which makes the process a little easier.
