Hey all,
i have recently done a second site. it looks very shabby however i have seen worse which are getting more of a responce!
the site = www.need-cash-fast.co.uk
basically it is just a product page of affiliates with there links and i have a separate page with CJ affiliates on it. i have really looked at alot of affiliates as i didnt want to just put any on my site . i wanted to put on the best that i thought and the most helpful due to other peoples views (people i know)
i wondered do you think the site will keep people on it or would you prefer to just go straight to a page with the information on instead of the "products page"?

please inform

cheers
steve

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

As the page is now, I think you stand to lose potential affiliate sales to Adsense or the back button. No offense, but all that text does is give people more time to leave before getting to that big link at the bottom of the page, and the link gives them one more thing to do before they "find" your site message...

You'd probably do better with some kind of list right on that home page ("Top 7 ways to earn money online" or something ...). If you want to push for affiliate sales, I'd lose the adsense, or at least put fewer ad blocks on the page(s). It's quite overwhelming and draws the visitors' eyes away from the other page copy.

Good for you! :tu: Thinking of your visitors is one key to building successful sites :).

Also, may I suggest placing affiliate links on the landing page? By keeping your products on a separate page, you're effectively giving your visitors an opportunity to stop for a moment and ask themselves if they're interested enough to visit the Products section. Now, do you want them to think or do you want them to click? ;)

Better. Now I would add some little blurbs telling visitors WHY each program is so good - like you had on the products page before.

Let's say I'm a visitor, I don't know you or your site and the internet is full of pages of links ... what makes these important? You researched and picked these merchants, what was it about each that you liked? Why should I click on one of your links instead of the "back" button?

Convince me :)!

Also, keep in mind that whatever you write about each product has to be short, concise and yet emotionally charged - 2 to 3 paragraphs explaining why this product is so good that you want your visitors to buy it. You're the seller - explain to your customers what's so great about your product! :)

Which also brings us to the issue of above/below the fold placements. Since you're advertising multiple affiliate products, you might want to stop for a moment and consider what 1-2 products you would rather sell. Thing is, traditionally, products located above the fold receive greater CTR and conversion rates.

What is "above the fold"? Basically, it's the part of the site that the visitor can see without having to scroll down. If what you've written above the fold doesn't catch the visitor's interest, they're not going to scroll down and read the rest.

However, since space above the fold is limited, there are only so many products you can describe - so you may want to think what 1-2 products you'd rather see above the fold (and maybe below the fold add something like "And if you like these products, you may also be interested in these...").

yea i have thought about that aspect myself.
so what i did was widen my main panel in order to get it in without having to scroll :)
im learning as im going lol
i might leave it a few days like this and see what happens then change it if i see no rewards
