I have antiausterity.com domain parked on namecheap.com

Just seeing what kind of appraisal it would get on this forum? the word austerity checked on google has 110,000 searches per month on average and 301,000 in May and It is a big subject in Europe and is becoming a more popular subject in the UK since the may elections.

Would suit someone who writes blogs about it and could earn them a nice bonus in advertisements.

What do you think of it's value?

This is more a political domain than a directly commercial domain.

If I were you I would contact some NGO in an austerity affected country (like Greece maybe).
You could get some money for it but don't expect much.

Thanks for the replies. I knew I wasn't going to get much but it was an interesting name so I thought I would get it following the political stance it has today.

There's a very small chance you might get some of the English speaking left wing parties in Europe interested in it, try Ireland and the UK (Sinn Fein in Ireland). The problem however, is that they can just go and register the geo tld or any other extension for that matter. It won't be an easy sell because owning the .com extension simply isn't a necessity for a non-commercial domain. I wouldn't waste too much time or energy finding end users and I certainly wouldn't waste any time contacting end users in Greece.

It does have some development potential, you could monetize with leads generation and adsense, there's some tasty keywords to cover around banking/loans etc that are relevant to the subject matter.

Sell it to whoever owns austerity.com.

Then they can corner the market

I don't see a clearly commercial purpose for this domain.

Just checked on austerity.com it's for sale on afternic for $7500 and a few other domains with the word austerity near that price. It really goes by what you can make of it as quoted by iAchillies

Plenty of domains have absurd asking prices. Until they actually sell, the asking price is just that: an asking price (or a wish).
