Found this as a blog post somewhere:

So… If you are a wife and mother of 5.. And only you go to heaven.. and the rest of your family goes to hell… Would/Should God create “Phantasms” of the rest of your family for you to enjoy in heaven? And if God did, should God let you know that they are false while the real souls burn in hell… or should God keep you ignorant?

What is your opinion?

First of, I don't believe in notion that souls get burned on hell.
I believe that souls do get their penance in purgatory before entering Heaven.
I don't know guys but this is what I believe in.

Now, regarding the quoted post. God is fair. IMHO, He would not do any make believes to cover up the truth.

they make you forget all the misery you have on earth, as in the case of Lazarus and the rich man, only the rich man in hell looked up and recognize "father Abraham" and "Lazarus" while Lazarus don't care much but while they're both alive Lazarus is feeding on bread crumbs from the rich man's table so he knows the rich man proves to say that Lazarus doesn't recognize the rich man because while here on earth all remembrance and memory of Lazarus was all pain. Now he's comforted in heaven and the rich man even has memories of all his brothers going to hell with him because they lived exactly like him. :imho:

so to answer the original question: God will make you forget all your miseries.

I wont get all biblical here,,But those who go to hell,Made there own reservation there ,imo,So there is no need create Phantasms.imo
