Description: Americansingles.us ==> American Singles Dating Domain.

Taken in alle major extensions. I think the .us fits the domain well.

Nice name, but .us makes it less valuable.

Isn't there a trademark problem????

There is a site AmercianSingles.com very popular.

Isn't it a problem to develope a site with the same caracteristics???????

Re: Isn't there a trademark problem????

exactly.
not that the armchair appraisers here would take the fact that the phenomenally (now there's a big word for .edu, LOL) successful americansingles.com owns that space (though only arbitration would decide whether they have auto legal rights for the .us domain).
small fact:
"MatchNet is a public company traded on the Prime Standard Segment of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange (Ticker: MHJG)"
good luck in competing with their lawyers should any fool try to start a dating site there.

good luck trying to get "$250" for it.
must be virtual dollars, lol.
any proposed dating site would hardly see any traffic b/c of the americansingles.com.

once again, these appraisals are worth the price paid.

Drunken Fist,
I appreciate your comments on the domain, but I don't see a reason why you have to be so rude.

Of course, Captain Drunken Fist the All-Knowing and Almighty obviously didn't take into account the extremely high cost involved in litigation. Not entirely sure that it would be worth it for AmericanSingles.com to pursue a legal recourse.
At any rate, it could be a nice domain.
And Drunken Fist..... there's no call to insult people you have no clue about. Take your misplaced angst elsewhere.

dohh, what's that lil "R" symbol next to AmericanSingles?
Hold on, it says:
"AmericanSingles.com and MatchNet are registered trademarks of MatchNet plc.

Yup, if match.us was available why don't i set up a website...a dating one....just like the .com. Purely coincidental of course.
I'm sure Joe sixpack won't be confused. That's if anyone even finds the brand new .us site.
Then again they'll probably thank u for sending the any extra traffic their way after JoeQ gets confused and ends up at the .com. LOL
Taking it further why dont i reg eg Microsoft.tk and sell software...u get the idea...LOL

And just believe that big $$$ will come after u if anyone dares to even start one. Just ask ultsearch re: lawfinders.com. And it's not even the exact same wording (no 'S')
Then again he's got more $$$$ than the average spec here to defend himself...
PPC appears ok -- just like the other PPC-whores @ .info, .org etc..

LOLOL

ps. most of the PPC-whores here have no clue about development anyway, only know how to put up a PPC site hoping to get rich off PPC while clicking on the PPC screen checking every hr....sigh...

my views may be strong but i'm not going to high-five u shouting $250 telling u what u want to hear.

It's no secret that I had to use another nickname on DomainState.

I don't ASK for high valuation appraisals, Sir. All I wanted to know was what the "broader" market thought about this domain.

A wise man once told me that there's more to be learnt from negative comments than positive ones, so don't worry, I appreciate your criticism more than you might think.

Although, I don't understand why you have to react in such a cynical and bitter way.

That quote is spot on.
As the saying goes: in a team of 2 people if both agree then 1 is redundant...
And the comments were more critical analysis (something lacking here and elsewhere) than negative.

As for the $500-1000 valuation(s) on domainstate here's the acid test: offer to sell it for $250 - only half-price, 50%, a bargain - and see if they pull the $$$ out of their wallet.
Never fails to do the trick. LOL

And if "appraisals" do not take into a/c what is on the .com/net etc as well as trademark/IP issues then it is even worth less than price paid for. A complete joke.

BTW lavalife.us isalso available...now why don't i register it...sounds like a great name for a dating site....let's get a "fantasy" appraisal...

LOLOL

There's a huge difference between "lavalife" and "americansingles".
"Lavalife" is really an 'invented' mark, "americansingles" is generic.
Maybe you might take a TM on "water" or "belgiansingles" or...

By the way, I recently sold worlds*x.us to the dotcom-owner. He said that he prefered to pay $XXX for an "easy" transfer of the domainname than to pay $XXXX for his lawyer.

Granted that starting a dating site at AmericanSingles.us could get you in trouble, there are other non-infringing uses for the name. How about:

- music (as in songs released as "singles")
- sports (baseball, golf, tennis, etc. use the term singles)

It will take some work, but unless you go the same direction as americansingles.com, you shouldn't have problems.

As for value, I'm not overly excited about this name, as it is a bit long, and there are other more attractive .us names available or dropping soon.

Good luck!

Agree that 'americansingles' is more generic.

But the fact is the OV popularity and usage is SOLELY b/c of the .com site. If not for the .com site OV #s would be MUCH lower.
Admit it, u knew about the .com site when u reg'd the .us, no??

As for worlds*x.us did it have

1/ a PPC page up
2/ did it have a for sale sign
3/ who contacted u - was the email from their lawyer or from MrX@worlds*x.com ??
