Amazon A store

Has anyone put an amazon a store on their parked domain to generate income? Success / Failure? Tips?

I'm sure plenty of people have done it. Here's the thing though... once you put a storefront or a website up you're no longer parking. A parked website is one that is displaying ads through the registrar instead of directing the domain name to a hosted server.

If you were wanting to use your domain name for an Amazon store, then you would need to put up a website that displays the amazon products with your referral link embedded. People have done this successfully and many have failed. They fail because they make their site too complicated or they don't receive any visitors.

No matter what, to be successful online you are going to have to build trust with your customers, advertise your business and keep tweaking your site for maximum performance.

In my opinion, unless you have a ton of visitors or type in traffic it wouldn't work. Why would they go to your website, when they go to amazon.com? Unless you have a lot of content or reviews. Or maybe something very nichey.

I did a test last year, doesn't work unless you get good type in traffic.

Concentrating on a niche is a good idea. Sometimes when I look for something on amazon, not a particular thing but when I need to compare and choose among several makers or types of the thing, it is a pain to find what you want because when you do a search it returns the products you actually want to look at and compare but also hundreds of other unrelated things. Then I think "it would be nice if there was a category just for that type of product!"

So you could try and target this. But as others said, even this would not be enough. You need to work on your website to make it look professional and useful in itself, which will add the sense of reliability. Plus you need either to advertise your website, or regularly add new content and improve your search rankings - so that your website is actually visible to other people, otherwise even if it is good and useful they may simply overlook it.

I've tried a few a-stores but never sold anything on them. Had more luck running individual amazon ads next to or near a review of the product in the advert.
