I have the domain www.MatchedWith.com - and I truly thought it was worth mid-low $xx'xxx but where ever I've touted this domain I've yet to find someone who feels the domain is worth anything more than low $xxx

I know the seller always wants more than the buyer but I thought the domain had plenty going for it. Can I really be so wrong?

The domain has been registered since February, is taken in .COM only and all the Google results are sentence fragments.

Sorry, but I don't see much value here.

. Can I really be so wrong?

I don't normally do appraisals as over the years I have offended many people that expect you to say .. Yes thats a million $ name

Can you be so wrong? IMO no this is not a bad name by far. Its punchy to the point and all it lacks is a company to come along and invest lots in adverts.

This is not a name for the domainers flip IMO and althought not the best name around .. sure has ALOT of potential to do well..

So no.. you are not wrong. just not found the correct buyer as yet

:)

Stats: MatchedWith.com
Keyword search volume (exact) - 320
CPC advertising price - $0.05
Traffic (Compete.com) - 0

Application: Dating site.

Strengths: Two word .com

Weaknesses: Very low search volume, very low CPC, low term popularity

Comparable Sales w/ Stats:
Domain - Sales Price - Date
MatchDating.com - $700 - Apr 2004
FoundMyMatch.com - $455 - Oct 2007
MatchUpSingles.com - $325 - Jan 2007
OutMatch.com - $200 - Dec 2003
LandMatch.com - $195 - Nov 2006

Final Thoughts: Looks like this name was only registered 5 months ago. While age is not an idicator of value, it can be used as an idicator of when a domain was in demand.

Fair Market Value: $75 - $125 USD
The above value represents the domains fair market value. Keep in mind that certain end users might purchase a domain name for far more or less than its fair market value.

IMO and it is just that :) ... Appraisals suck ..

I think the name has huge potential and if the right buyer is found (that goes for any name) then the above sucks :)

I appreciate the quick replies (seriously very quick!!)... MellowMasher - I agree totally, I understand the reason people check Google results and CPC but they dont tell you what the domain could be used for. I thought that if a company wanted a dating domain then www.MatchedWith.com would be ideal (surely there can't be too many more around).

Still, I thank everyone for their opinions, and I guess its like people always say... one persons junk is another persons treasure, I just gotta find the right people :)

It might be ideal to an end user, but at the same time there are countless other good brandable combos for a dating site. It will be hard to get a big sale where there are other options.

Indeed, good luck and hopefully you'll find someone for that. From a branding perspective, if I was developing a site around that name, I'd probably be concerned about consumers' confusion with match.com. From a psychology standpoint, if they're already really familiar with a dating brand called "match.com", it's harder for you to rewire their minds to a longer name that starts with "match".

Good point :tu:

Maybe other areas like a job match site? or maybe go the sports way of football ? etc

Yeah that's a good point and something I hadn't thought about.
