I want to put up a blog on my website. I want it to integrate with my site. I don't want to integrate my site into WordPress (since I've just spent countless number of hours already, redesigning it). My requirements are not big. I'd like to have archives, topics, comments, and if possible the ability to have multiple blogs (but this isn't a deal breaker). My website design is quite narrow. So I don't want a blog which hogs the screen. The plainest of the plain is all I require. No graphics etc.

Anybody have any suggestions? (I tried QuickBlogger but was unable to get it to work).

Movable type is another one that you can look into:

wordpress is pretty easily skinnable to match your existing site... freelancers would probably do it for a fair price...

drupal (http://drupal.org/) could be another good option.

I second that, Drupal is great. It is lean and mean out of the box and you can add modules to do just about anything. I find it easier to use as well. There is a bit of a learning curve in the beginning, but it is well worth it. It is also SEO friendly. You can get "clean urls" with just a click.

I think WordPress is better than drupal, judging from the page template.

They both have many free templates to choose from. You can change the look just by uploading a new theme and activating it. It takes less than a minute to totally change the look of these CMS. Very cool stuff I wish they had ten years ago and I wish I had learned about sooner!

could be bigger than wordpress alone, lots of unneeded features.

Actually using Fantastico, Wordpress takes 6.13 MB of disk space and Drupal takes 4.96 MB of disk space. Drupal does come with more features out of the box, which someone may not need, but it is nice to be able to activate those features with the click of a mouse if you decide you want them later on.
