Yesterday while watching television; I saw a GM commercial touting their new hybrid vehicles which are fueled by e85 Ethanol and on Ford’s website I read this today. With the Big Three auto makers rushing to get in early and obtain a high market share for Hybrid e85 Ethanol fueled vehicles. And a small land rush for domain names with variations of this kind of domain name(e85Ethanol.com/net/org/us/info/biz all registered and FlexFuel.com/net/org/us/biz/info/de/co.uk taken as well). I thought it would be interesting to find out what kind of value this had.

Please appraise e85Ethanol.net

E85 is growing very fast slaughterbeck .. I have about 20 E85 domains.

E85Ethanol.Net hard to say at ths stage because people arent fully aware of it yet..but that is changing

If I owned it I wouldnt sell for less than $500 today .. I think thats reasonable range.. and will grow from there .It's just a matter of what terms in E85 actually catch on.

btw.. stop on by if you ever want to discuss E85 http://e85vehicles.com you can list your domain in the forum also if you like .(everyones welcomed)

gift

E85E.com
E85eth.com
85eth.com

all available. I like short and snappy, especially with names based on new tech... people seem to reg the short snappy ones immediately. You have no idea the self-control it took me to write e85e.com here, rather than running to reg it :)
Just following my ethic to not reg-steal based on other people's ideas on this forum. e85e was a good test, ha. short, and much tighter than e85ethanol.net
Welcome to reg it if you like it.

Peace.

Mmm... i wouldnt invest too heavily in it. Oil is going to get cheap again, and all these new fuels are probably going to get shelved. Ethanol has been used as a fuel in cars for 50 years, and it only makes news when we get a spike in oil prices.

Ethanol has actually been used for over 100 years now .. most Brazilians now use Ethanol as they do gasoline .

In the United States more thna 40 ethanol plants have gone into production the past couple years .. and all auto manufactors are making Flex Fuel vehicles and heavily advertisng them ..just look at the front page of GM .. gm.com

I know what you are saying monolith..but this time it's for real.. the beauty is .. it costs very little to make a car run on E85 ..most all production cars are already able to run on 10% ethanol and they just make a few changes to fuel delivery system to make all cars capable of running on E85 .

It isnt like hydrogen or electric where it takes a massive investments by the automakers.. Ethanol is easy and fast .

And far to many Americans are tired of sending their money to the middle east .. they'd rather send it to the American Midwest to our Agri Industry ..

I reg'd

e10ethanol.com

Also, the .net and .org

The e10 ethanol/gasoline mixture has been branded as "E10 unleaded" or "gasohol", however, these names have never caught on with the public.

In fact, the EPA refers to the mixture as e10 ethanol quoted here from an epa.gov press release "The use of E10 ethanol is covered under warranty by every automaker selling cars..." Additionally, a quick google search reveals that a majority of references to this fuel (particularly in Europe and Australia) are to it as "E10 ethanol." Also, given the growing acceptance of the phrase "E85 ethanol" my instinct tells me that the general public will grow accustomed to the E(number) ethanol form. Lastly, E10 ethanol will preceed E85 in the establishment of an efficient ethanol delivery infrastructure.

I'm interested in unloading these three names as a package and wish to price competitively to encourage a quick sale but don't want to shortchange myself either.

Any ideas would be appreciated, Thanks!

Eh...Thanks for the appraisal?

Okay…Hmm…Thanks for the revival?

Alright, let's say I auction this off in the "Live Auction" here at namepros this Friday. What would you anticipate the end price will be?

Best wishes,
Kimmy

Looks like someone got the E85e.com... I was sooo gonna reg it and leave NP$.

As for e85Ethanol.net I think it's great, however it may be a long term investment.

I sort of went an all-clean-fuels inclusive route and reg'd SoftGas.com and SoftFuels.com...

I would say if you auction it on NP you would get high xxxNP to mid XXXXNP... IMO
However this is one I would try to market to an end user---whoever that may be.

Good Luck!!

Thanks for that cognizant appraisal Frank.

I added rep. :hehe:

Keep'em comin' please...

Frank,

I'm sorry if I seemed rude. I understand your desire to list your domain and I was a bit hasty in making such a statement which in the end was rude. Please forgive me. I was partly joking but with my sense of humor I can understand how some may take it for mean spiritedness.

Best wishes,
Kimmy

I don't think you were rude at all. Just a little sarcastic. He only left his DN for sale link, no comment, no appraisals, not even a frig'in thank you.... If you didn't leave rep, I did:)

Thanks Richard,

Obviously, this name appears to be a property which will hold up over time but I’d really like to try my hand at offer some fairly high quality domains at auction with a slice going to charity (25%). The domain gods have been wonderful to a dunce like me and I feel the desire to give at least a small part back. Thanks for your input though.

Best wishes,
Kimmy

It looks as if the above may be regarding my post.

Well as this original thread had digressed into "look at mine" I thought I would contribute... and yes revitalize. Additionally, the information within my post was relevant and it is clear that there are many out there excited to share their alternative fuel domain names with others. If you didn't get an appraisal(who are we kidding about how valid they are) at least you did get a peak at the competition, which may prove much more valuable.

Ok, I will apologize to Slaughterbeck, and everyone else. No one was sarcastic. I deserved everything that has been said. No, I didn't leave an appraisal. No, I didn't leave comments. And,yes, I did leave my Dn for sale link. (of course, that is automatic, wasn't intentional)

So, if you want to give me bad rep, that's cool.
I guess I just got carried away reading about the Ethanol. If I honestly didn't think it was good, I wouldn't have talked about mine, either.

Sorry to everyone.

Frank

I would't normally try appraising this domain but since you seem to be having difficulty getting some feedback and since you are so awfully good looking I will give you my "guess" on its value.

1)The two words e85 and ethanol are good searchable words and show well on overture-singularly and together.
2)The domain would be used in relation to a high value industry (fuel). Keywords would therefore be high priced.
3)E85 is already established to some degree for its use and if it ever becomes dominant
the domain could take on very high value that it may not currently have.
4)The domain is very developeable.
5)The extension net is good, not great.

I would think if it was well marketed it could sell for $300-$500. In the smaller market of the namepro auction i would think you might sell it for $40-80.
Potentially if a motivated end user were to come along I would expect you could ask $1000+.

Someone else indicated they wouldn't sell it for less than $500. I too would hold out for something like that and put a little developement and adsense on the site in the meantime. You might make more doing that than from a quick sale.

I'm not the most qualified appraiser Kimmy but hopefully my thoughts combined with others may give something useful to you.
