Hi, How much do you think this is worth to an end user,

i'm thinking maybe around $2,500? :imho:

How do you see the name being used?

someone has requested to purchase it...
it has unspecified usuage, it can be used for many things as its a word with 35million google results, and used frequently in domain names as company name & family name, etc.
on the basis of the "results" and the shortness of the domain name i come to the estimate of $2,500 (i doubt i would go too much below this value) but of course it will be somewhat more or less depending on the user/use.

Google results in this case don't mean much IMO... alter is such a generic word, you're getting hits for every instance on the web.. not to mention the fact that .info hurts this one. It doesn't really fit the ext (alter what?).. I don't see much potential for it, and not to rain on your parade, but I'd guesstimate it's worth, undeveloped/wholesale, at low xx - mid xx at best.
