Algiers is the capital of Algeria, second largest city in North Africa and one of the most historically important cities in Africa. Algiers can be equated to Cairo, Egypt in many ways.

Population of over 3 million.

Algiers was one of the most important cities in the first and middle part of this century, slowly fading from the limelight later on.

However, there has been a resurgence in interest in this city, with more and more tourists and more efforts being taken by the government to promote the city to its former glory.


Economically, Algiers is the most important port in North Africa, and has the highest cost of living of any North Africa city, and 50th in the world in 07.

I'm surprised no opinions on this...a capital city geo with a LOT of history. Isn't there anybody from Morrocco, Egypt, Algeria here?

A good strong geo name, very famous in the fifties during the Suez crisis.

Cries out for development, high $xxx/ low $x,xxx reseller, Big bucks if the motivated end user knocks on the door.

I got this one from for an x,xxx amount myself.
I'm a strong believer in geo names, especially in under exposed areas. Asia, Eastern Europe, and Africa are way underexposed on the internet, which is surprising as these, especially Asia, form probably the largest upcoming market.


North Africa has a lot of history and culture, and economically is much better off than most of Africa. This one's going for development

Great name, I myself don't have much of an idea about geo names but I do know how to recognize top-notch names. :hehe:
Almost everyone is bound to have heard of Algiers even if they don't know exactly where it is and that further heightens the value.
Around $2500-$3000 for a reseller and possibly $9K for an end-user.
