Alexa Ranking: Paid?

Not sure if this is in the right section but anyway...one of my acquaintances just put up a new site (few months old) and the site's Alexa ranking is already xxx'xxx. How did that happen?

Do people pay to get better Alexa rankings???

your acquaintance is probably using a traffic exchange. getting a rank of xxx,xxx isn't that hard.

Alexa ranking is too easy to be played with :D

I wouldn't worry about alexa rank. But if it is really that important then I think there are white hat ways to get more traffic. I also know the other ones for the sake of knowledge but if it doesn't matters to me then why to use it.

I know there's a script that refreshes your site depending on how many times you set it and it helps your alexa ranking. That's just how they do it so who cares of Alexa ranks now
