My site is www.americandreamdownpaymentassistance.com
Long name, but the US government last year came out with a program of the same name. Very high page ranks, generates on avg. 500 apps a month, 4-5 thousand unique visits a month. I also have several variations of the program name just parked. I might be interested in selling. It generated just over $$$,$$$ a year from a client I had. Any ideas on the value?
Your input is greatly appreciated.

Even though those figures are nice, I would have a very hard time remembering that domain name due to length.

Month Unique visitors Number of visits Pages Hits Bandwidth
Jan 2005 2141 3259 12047 39074 467.42 MB
Feb 2005 2408 3513 12517 41888 494.24 MB

This is off the webstats page for the past two months.

It is stilll generating the leads, my clients sole their business in the fall of last year, they had an exclusive on all leads. They were not a mortgage company, but they used them to entice mortgage companies to use their products. The new owners are decided not to renew the contract. I am agressivley seeking other partners, or buyers for the leads. I am also just starting to look at the adlinks idea or clickxchange type programs, or even sell the whole thing.

From what way did it generate the income?

As a profession, I create unique sales concepts for companies. Kind of a cross between ad agency / PR firm / Sales manager for hire. I designed a sales concept for my client. They sold their services to mortgage companies, my concept was to create something of value that my clients, clients needed, (i.e home buyers). Then taught my clients sales team to use the apps coming in as a door opener. It worked wonders. They sold the comapany last fall and the new owners just dont have the vision. Their sales are already down 65% since November of 04. They just cut me loose as of this month. The revenue that was generated was a fee I placed on the going market rate for the leads.

With that number of visitors looking for loans I would contact several mortgage companies and sell to the highest bidder(sell the leads not the site). I get $25-75 for my leads and I do not have near that many. You can make more based on quantity and quality. If you are serious about a partnership or a buyer of the leads you can send a PM or email to robert at robertjr dot com

Thank you all very much for the encouraging opinions. Unfortunatley, we all know the true value in anything is what someone is willing to pay for it. How does one go about testing the waters of what someone would be willing to pay for a site?

still looking for ideas where to sell a very lucrative web site.

Definitely worth a good bit if you can back those statistics up to a potential buyer. I'd look for a good broker in the deal personally - otherwise you can just try and get the word out about the site. Not sure how many here on NP would have the budget for it though.

By the way, the comments above weren't negative - so don't take it personal at all. You've got yourself a great domain despite the length.

Where to sell?
If you can back up the statistics empirically to a bank/broker/originators, you'd have no problem. Contact a bank or two's marketing teams, they'll have someone that specializes in the online arena.

Test it out. If it's still generating that amount of revenue, it's well worth the money.
