It's just me, but I don't see too much resale potential, mainly because this can either be a fansite (and I doubt there are many people out there willing to pay any considerable money to own a fansite name) or anything that is commercial in its nature (which would incur the immediate wrath of Microsoft).

I disagree with that. Many people pay alot of money for active forums and those forums, if the ads and advertising was done correctly) can create a huge revenue, raise pagerank, and therefore sell the site for a lot of money.

I'm not sure if there are TM issues.
