Hi DealMaker1, Regarding your answer about AFY.US I think it is an easy domain to remember, which was not created by me either, but I analyzed it from what I know that AFY has several abbreviations and is found in various types of companies and products. Also, if the domain has artificial links or does not match the new website, it can be disavowed through a toolAnd what does afy stand for and why register it in .us? Did you have a plan before you bought it?
Word to the wise...have a plan before you buy something. Lottery registrations work .001 percent of the time. The fact it is 18 years old means little. Even if it has a lot of links means nothing. If those links aren't related to the content on the new site, Google will drop it like a hot potato.
If you didn't have a plan before you bought it, it is valueless.
Totally agree with you DealMaker1, especially since a person can spend those thousands of dollars to build a website and improve it from scratch instead of adopting risk by acquiring a domain for just the reason it has backlinks, which will be a big Zero value if they are not the relevant links to the main website, it will be a waste of money, effort and time."I don't know much about domains, but these are virtual lands (lots), if a client likes the name or extension he can fix his domain to make it compatible. In the end, the name counts a lot and also his age, according to what I have read on google"
Google is only about content these days. So even if you have domain links, they must match the previous site's content to have any value. Otherwise the domain is useless. If you sell this to someone who has a different afy meaning and site, the links from the first site will be disavowed. And this only makes sense. If those links come from "African Foundation for Youth" and now you sell it for "American Fund for the Young", Google will not accept the links. I've seen it first hand. There is no relationship from the first to the second so Google, after a few scans, will not allow those links.
Have been saying this about the thousands of dollars people have been spending on domains with links. Better make sure domains you buy, with links, have the niche as the NEXT end-user. Otherwise those links are really not a selling point. Those links will be dropped because of content irrelevance.
