Afternic lander without nameservers

Hi,

I hope you're doing well.

Before Dan merged with Afternic, I used an A record to point my domain to Dan's servers, displaying the sales landing page while retaining full control over my DNS records.

Now that the migration to Afternic has occurred, I'm wondering if there’s a way to achieve something similar. I can't use nameservers because I need access to the DNS manager for other records, but I still need to show the sales page.

I hope this makes sense.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

Their A records may change frequently, so I think I'd then go for a stable HTTP/s redirect, pointing your domains to the resulting Afternic URL or GoDaddy URL.

Note that Afternic will punish you with the higher commission when a domain sells this way, since they will only look at nameservers set for the domain.

Thanks for your response. I am aware of the high commission rate but I still need access to the records. What do you mean by resulting Afternic URL or Godaddy URL? Where do I get this url?

I still need access to the records
Currently, the following two A records are used for all Afternic landers, no matter what type of sales lander is defined in the dashboard. These A records (IP addresses) could change in the future, though.

justanexample.com. 3600 IN A 13.248.169.48
justanexample.com. 3600 IN A 76.223.54.146

What do you mean by resulting Afternic URL or Godaddy URL? Where do I get this url?
I mean, try it by testing with one of your domains, by setting Afternic NS for the domain, setting a preferred lander type in the dashboard, and then check where Afternic will redirect you to (the final URL). This may be an Afternic URL or a GoDaddy URL, depending on the lander type.

For example (please double-check yourself) you likely could redirect to:

https://www.godaddy.com/forsale/example.com
https://www.godaddy.com/forsale/example.com?traffic_type=TDFS_BINNS2&traffic_id=binns2
https://www.godaddy.com/forsale/example.com?traffic_type=TDFS_BINNS&traffic_id=binns

https://www.afternic.com/forsale/example.com?traffic_type=TDFS_DASLNC&traffic_id=daslnc

Note, because I'm using "example.com" you may not see the complete lander details, so please test with one of your own domains that are actively listed on Afternic.

Each Afternic domain lander type has a different final destination URL, you just have to find out which URL is most stable to point to. But still, just like the IP addresses, these URLs may change in the future as well.

Also, make sure that all your domains have been successfully added to the Afternic Dashboard, with the correct sales lander type, price, and other settings.

Hi, did you get a proper solution to this? How did you resolve the issue? I am using cloudfare for controlling DNS records for all my domains and need to use other landers (Afternic, Atom, and DomainEasy). I can't find the A records or CNAME values for any of these. Currently using NP landers since they provide CNAME and the domains resolved almost immediately.
