Adsense and competition

Hello, I am not sure if this is the appropriate forum for this, but here goes:
I decided to utilize Google's Adsense program, but my problem is when I go to my own site (a hosting company) I see ads for competitors. Is there a way to change the content so related sites (such as web design sites, etc.) show but not competitors? This is probably a question for the folks at Google, but I thought I would give you guys a try first.

Erm... I think you can filter out keywords so that your competition stays out of your hair

I look at it a different way. Are you better than your competitors? If your not you should be. Why take them off your site. You can get paid to have your visitors shop around. They'll be back if you are better/have a site that's more atractive/user friendly etc.

Even if iam efficient than my competitors, i still would not allow my competitors ad in my site for any price(except when they purchase my site for a huge money )

You are able to block specific advertisers from appearing in your Adsense ads. There is a place in the Adsense management area where you can block URLs.

Problem you're going to have with a hosting site is that most of the ads Google picks will be for other hosting sites. If you're concerned about competator ads on a site where you're selling a service or product, I wouldn't recommend using Adsense on those sites. It's better suited for content based sites.

You can go to your controll panel in your adsense area and click on URL's to filter

Type in your competions url and poof they will never appear on your site again, you can do this with up to 200 URL's

Thanks for the replies, but I decided to remove adsense altogether. Just didn't look professional to me.
