AdSense will not show

I added the Adsense code to my site 4 days ago the status is "new" I have a full site with lots of content but nothing shows.

yes i have had the account a few years

I ended up closing my Adsense account and submitted a new one, it's the only I thought it may work. Thanks for your help.
