I wonder if there are any statistics out there that show what order add people tend to click on more....the first, middle, or last?

We all know that the first add usually pays the most per click because that is usually the highest adword bidder.

But i've been thinking, that when i click on an adsense link when i do a google search, or when i'm on somebody's site, i don't usually click on the first link. I usually notice a link somewhere in the middle (as i'm reading content) that catches my eye

Now, I usually use 160x600 skyscrapper ads on the left or right hand side of my content site to immitate a website menu..... So, i'm gonna try an experiment...... what i'm going to try and do is try to 'scoot' them down a little bit to make the first ad land somewhere in the vertically middle of the screen....So, for example, instead of starting out with a 160x600 skyscrapper add on the left hand site, i'll create 2 links to related articles on my content site and place them first....followed by adsense ads..making the first adsense add appear 3rd....

it may or may not do much, but i'm still curious as to what will happen since i've never done something like this before
