AdSense pennies

I have a site that used to get about .20 to .60 cents a click, however now I am averaging less than 1 penny (.01) a click?!?!? How is this even possible?

Click help (at the top right). Then browse to the very bottom and you will see contact us.

I know, took me awhile to find it too. The response turnaround seems to be about 2 days.

my cpc's are back to normal after only allowing traffic from the us, ca and uk.

do you think adsense automatically 'crushes' the cpc when the traffic orginates from countries besides the ones above? ...just a thought.

Interesting comment - does it actually work for the purpose of increasing epc? I've filled in only about 10% of my websites this way, but since I don't offer site targeting I didn't think anyone would be looking at it, least of all google for the purpose stated.

It wouldn't surprise me. I can't say for certain though - almost all my sites are pretty region-specific (either US or Michigan) and I don't get a lot of traffic from other countries - well, I do get some chinese traffic on the fireworks site (mainly from people wanting to sell me fireworks!)

The targeting comments I mentioned are the ones AdSense themselves specify that you should use; they tell AdSense what you consider to be the 'important' sections of your content, and help Google deliver the best targeted ads that they can. I use it on all my sites to tell Google not to look at any navigation or footer text, and only look at the real 'meat' of the site. It won't guarantee you better EPC, but if your ads are well targeted to your site and your audience, in my experience, the better EPC is a natural result.
