There is supposed to be a google ad featured next to the top "new" game image on www.profileplay.net .

The site displays the ads next to the icons on other pages.. just not on the main page!?

Any ideas why? And any ways I can avoid this? I've tried enharcing the word "game" within the site and nothing happened.

Thanks

It shows fine for me.

It may not be complying with the Adsense guidelines though. It looks like you're trying to trick people into clicking it (by making them think it's part of the content and not an ad)
Especially with that picture to the left of it to make it look like the rest of the content.

If I were you, I'd remove it immediately.

EDIT:

I worked alot on them and finally got them to display.. it was just a case of swapping code around n stuff.

I think he could get away with it if he were to change the background color to differentiate it, but, man, that's what I call blending!

I think what he's doing is fine..He's just putting an image next to the ad...

10 to 1 that if he were to show Google that ad, he'd be asked to modify it or remove it.. it's a little more than just "putting an image next to the ad".. it's a matter of placement as well. For all intents and purposes it looks like a part of the games menu for his site which is intentionally deceptive.

Hey, I could care less actually.. more power to him. But I'd bet it's against Adsense TOS the way it stands. Images next to the ads are one thing, but there are restrictions regarding the way they can be displayed.

Like I said earlier.. great idea as far as "blending" goes.. I'd do it too if I thought I could get away with it, but seeing as Adsense is about the only "real" player around, ppc wise, I'd not want to rock the boat..

Personally, I'd have no problem with doing whatever it takes to get a better CTR... if you're in business, you're in it to turn a profit. Unfortunately, Adsense may not see things my way

There is a Google rule against this.
Sites showing Google ads should not present a poor opportunity for advertisers.
Sites that use tricks or deceptive practices in order to trigger inadvertent clicks on ads are prohibited.
Go to the Adsense help pages and look for the page entitled "What can I do to ensure that my account won't be disabled?"

I have heard of sites (and user's entire accounts) getting banned from Adsense for doing this.

I'm betting if he were to ask Google to rule on it, they'd ask him to remove or change it.
