Thoughts on this domain? I've got a relatively high price on it currently, but I'm considering dropping the price.

Sounds good for an image hosting site, like imgur.com, but for such a project the backend is more important (and expensive), not the domain name. I'd say mid $xxx.

Cool I'm actually a backend developer my self, do you think flipping it as a turnkey might be the best option?

That would be great, but make sure you design the site in such a way that it is: 1) scalable and 2) easy to monetize.

Add a short link system and user accounts, a friendly embed code generator for forums and the like, and you're good to go.

It's actually quite a lot of work, if I think about it You know what they say, ideas are a dime a dozen, it's the implementation that counts.
