It suits the education or job sectors far more than it does for actual accountants or accounting software.
I don't think it as a suitable name for an accountant or accounting software for a few reasons:
- The majority of accountants prefer their name or initials in their branding. CJ accountants for example.
- Accounting software typically has a catchy name like QuickBooks or Sage.
- It simply doesn't fit. I mean at a stretch there could be software named Accountancy, but again in my opinion it doesn't excite. It sounds all a bit boring, which accounting is to those not working in the field.
It's a great promotional name for the education or job sectors for sure. I think this is where the most likely buyers are. When I Google "accountancy" the majority of results shown on the first couple of pages are courses or jobs.
Hi @Federer I have to agree with Dave in that is very generic, which would suit more of a site/blog educating people on accounting rather than as a brand.
I'd imagine most companies in this industry will use a prefix or suffix, e.g. GEOAccountancy.com or BusinessAccountancy.com
Most other TLDs are registered and not in use, either for sale or redirects.
There are 10's of thousands of companies with Accountancy in their name, so there is always chance it will attract a end user buyer, maybe not with deep pockets for the average joe accounting business.
It's still a great name which should fetch 5 figures min if the right buyer comes along. It could just be a long wait.
