Well payment was a full 12 hours later. You were on the forum for a full 2 hours after the fact, and I didn't even get a PM saying payment would be 12 hours, an hour or a week. In both cases I refunded your payments as soon as I got in the office, and in both cases much faster than either of you paid. Consider almost only 70% of people pay, I don't feel bad. If I don't get a PM or payment or both within an hour that figure drops to about 65%. If I don't get a PM or payment with in 5 hours that figure drops to under 40%. Don't blame me, its 4 years of none paying buyers you need to be upset with. I spent too long turning down money, because I was expecting these people to keep their word.
If you want a site, you should PM seller and if payment is going to be delayed for more than 12 hours you should explain. I try to push name and send out ftp data as soon as I get the needed info. There is no reason payment shouldn't be made as soon as you have the email. Thats how this business is done. If you need time, you should ask, and really check with the seller.
I have 9 sites sold but not paid for in just the last two working days. I will be shocked if I get paid for one of those sites, at least from the people that posted sold. These people that post sold and don't pay also kill my chances of selling the site often as people assume it has been.
I am sorry you are both upset. I wish there was a better way to do this. In both cases I refunded much faster than you paid. You didnt have to push me for a refund, I didnt try to keep your money. You were at the PC, you had my payment details, yet you didn't, nor bother to PM me with a time frame. If even 80-90% of people paid after a couple of days i wouldn't have to take this stance. However, with under 40% of people paying after a day I had to adopt this policy. This policy has increased my sales by 35% and only made a few that were slower to pay and had little contact mad.
Perhaps that is bad business, but to me it makes good business sense. If I post sold, I have the money in my account, PM, and as soon as i can send payment(normally within minutes of PM of paypal info).
Again I am very sorry, but after 5 years of doing this full time, just too many post sold and disappear. This is a hobby for far too many, and they don't treat it like a business. I am in the process of building all my rules on a new site, so they won't be any confussion. I'm assuming neither want to try to buy from me, and thats not to my liking but understandable. You want to buy from me, PM tell if payment is going to be delayed and why, and I'll say no or wait. I worked trade shows in a former life and I had to stop "holding things" for people there too, we called them "be backs". itsbad enough the people didn't keep their word, but only about 10% came back and said they over spent or changed their mind.
If I get a PM saying I'll pay you at blank time, and not this second for this reason I normally will hold the site. If I don't get that then I have to, HAVE TO, expect you to be like the near 1000 people now that post sold and never pay. In 5 years I've had to refund about 40 people from selling to another, but I've had about 850 none payers. What would your policy be?
