.tv $9.99 .TV Promotion?

I just got an email detailing the current Registerfly promotions but what caught my eye was a blurb in the sidebar that alluded to a forthcoming $9.99 .TV promotion.. now THAT got me interested!

I'll be sure to keep an eye out as there are a few .tv's I'd like but I'm not interested in paying $30 to test the waters.

That's nuts if it is true, but just be careful with RF. While I haven't personally had any problems with them, I've heard horror stories from others.

They are famous for their "future promotions"
I remember when they ran a "$9.95 .ws promotion coming soon" for 8 months....It never happened.
I am not saying it won't happen....just don't plan your future on it...

They're generally not too bad with the promotions. I missed the .ws thing but they brought the .net as promised and some of the other minor promotions. I'd love to see .TVs that cheap. Thanks for bringing this up!

Nope, just "Coming Soon". They are promoting a new website within two weeks so maybe a tie in with that.

I've heard horror stories from others.

I've never had a problem with them. They seem slow to remove old names from my account after I sell or move, but other than that and that they stopped accepting Paypal (also "Coming Soon" will be accepting again) I have had pretty good luck with them. They run $1.99 .INFO promos, $2.99 .NET promos, $4.99 renewals, and the $4.75 transfers regularly, so pick and choose your use. I currently have about 65 names at RegFly and pending these changes will hang around a while longer.
