I purchased 811115.net because I think it has a nice pattern to it then I asked myself as to how many combinations this numbers would make....although it is a 6N but it only has 3 numbers which are 8, 1 and 5.

Since numbers have 10 in terms of quantity from 0-9 can I safely say that there are only 1,000 combinations any three numbers would make instead of 1 million combinations (total of combinations 6N would produce)?

Is this logical, please correct me if I am wrong.
The other thing is, would anyone be able to tell how much its worth?

Thanks

The better way to bend the math is to focus on the rarity of 4 repeat numbers, there are 10 "sets of 4" "0000" thru "9999"
Since there are only 6 slots available, there can only be 100 each with the first four or last four taken [00-99] and 100 with your pattern of the Quad Repeater in the middle

Therefore, there are only 300 available Quad Repeaters out of a million or break it down only 1 in 3333

Lucky 8 and Rare Quad Repeater! Owning this domain is a lucky strike, only 1 in 3333 Numeric Six Character are a Rare Quad Repeater! The odds of being struck by lightning in your lifetime is 1 in 3,000 - this is your chance at a rare and valuable combination!

I have 11 87 33 in net, I liked the pattern - yours is far superior

Only one came up for Quad Repeat, and it was actually a Quint Repeat, this was only searching for "11". To be more accurate, you'd have to run each set of four, there is no wildcard pattern for repeat number at namebio

Thanks so much @usernamex. I too tried looking up Namebio but no past sales history so I can't really tell what its worth. I just bought it because I liked the pattern haha..

Yes I hope some more members comment, there isn't much on 6N.net, I tried to look before I bought as well. I don't mind holding a while if that's what it will take.

I also used this great post by @Kassey Lee
https://www.namepros.com/blog/your-guide-to-chinese-domain-names-from-0-to-99.921830/

If I split mine into pairs I get 11: 易易 (Easy easy) 87: 百艺 (A hundred skills) 33: 生生 (Alive alive)
and I have no idea if you look at a 6N as three pairs or two triples, I say mine that way because it is simpler than 118 733 since the pairs are opposite

Yours said as eight eleven eleven five rolls off the tongue in a lovely way

IC...I thought of putting it in an auction but I think I will wait as well. If Quint could hit over 1.4k, Quad would be in the range of $500-$700 maybe?

Yes I hope members who have the knowledge would join in and share their thoughts.
I liked the way it rolls off my tongue too:P

Thanks so much for sharing @usernamex

IMO, You got a good one, but ill need time for the harvest, A wait n the auction will be the gain. Infact this is better than many none patterned 5N.

@maj1pg2 asked me to comment.

For example, 51131420.com would be valuable to end users, because it has good meaning: 我要一生一世愛你 (Love you for a lifetime). Someone can use it to start to love-related business. However, long numbers with good meanings are rare.

Therefore, usually I don't bother to try to find meaning to a long number because very few end user companies would use it to build their corporate website in China. When it comes to long numbers (5N or more), you are really talking about the speculator market where people use all sorts of rules to make them look rare and so more valuable. My focus is end user companies only.

there is no wildcard pattern for repeat number at namebio
Sorry I'm late to this thread, but we do have wildcards for repeating numbers, they are D and E. So if you wanted to find comparable sales for something like 4994 you would search DEED as the pattern (similar to A and B for letter repeats). You can mix in N as well for any number.

For the OP's domain, you would have to search NDDDDN (any number, followed by 4 of the same number, followed by any number). There aren't many of this pattern for 6N.net, only three actually, and two of them happen to have the same first and last number. Here's the link to the search:

https://namebio.com/?s=gN1IDN1ATN

Keep in mind we don't publish sales under $100 so there may be more below that threshold. Hope this helps as far as searching for numeric patterns.

As far as the OP's question, yes there would be 1,000 of that same pattern. But that doesn't necessarily make it valuable, rarity is more of a plus for short domains. There are also only 1,000 of the pattern 788888888888888888888888888888882.net but I wouldn't go buy that because it is "rare". Heck, it is even more rare than the one you registered as there are only 1,000 out of one duotrigintillion possibilities :)

Thank you @Michael.

Appreciate your comment. Awesome input but we are talking about 6N and not referring to 20N (too many Ns in your example above:P). (2) Since Namebio do not have records for sales below 100 does not mean there are any (this is assumption and not base on fact) unless what you are saying is that anything that is 6N and above is equivalent to 7-20 or even 100 Ns in terms of value.

I was just giving the example of the 32N.net to show that "rarity" doesn't always mean something, in my example there are still only 1,000 of that pattern out of a massive number of possibilities, same as yours. If you want to say that a 32N is a bad example because there are so many possibilities, I would argue that 1 million is still a huge number as well.

Let me put it this way, 6N in .com are still barely a thing and don't have much value, so if you take 5-10% of that small value for the .net, it's basically reg fee for almost everything. That we only have four 6N.net sales above $100 in the database so far this year shows they aren't terribly valuable or liquid.

As I've mentioned in other threads, we track sales under $100, we just don't load them into the live site at the moment. Here are some recent 6N.net sales under $100 that have patterns for your reference:

GoDaddy

113311.net - $12 on 5/18/2016
753753.net - $17 on 3/19/2016
328328.net - $170 on 3/4/2016
801801.net - $83 on 1/19/2016

NameJet

999118.net - $69 on 3/3/2016
398666.net - $79 on 2/29/2016
117222.net - $79 on 2/14/2016
335666.net - $89 on 2/10/2016
361666.net - $89 on 1/23/2016

The quad repeat is pretty cool, so I would put yours somewhere in the $100 - $150 range. But given that the market for 6N.net is pretty small it might be hard to move on the forums in that range, as others with a nice pattern have sold for low $xx.
