I checked Truehost reviews on Trustpilot not great but not terrible either. Most complaints seem to be about their AI support bot not specifically about promos being fake. Their promo codes do apply at checkout from what I can see.
That said, tldes.com is a price comparison site. I list pricing data and add extra info like Trustpilot ratings, ICANN accreditation status, and traffic stats so that users can decide for themselves. If I started removing every registrar that someone had a bad experience with, the list would get very short very fast.
