Standard procedure for parties involved in a court case. However the interesting thing is that the Ovidio syndicate is claiming that the domains are for a "direct navigation network". The court ordered EURid to unblock the domains and threatened it with a fine of 25000 Euros per hour per domain. EURid is considering an appeal of this court order.

There are other "direct navigation networks" within .eu including one with over 44K .eu domains reigstered that is based on a Romanian DNS (xss.ro) and Romanian IP space. The Ovidio syndicate domains seem to be distributed across a number of DNSes with the gambling related ones hosted on the Gabino Limited nameservers, the porn related domains hosted on the Fausto Limited nameservers. The bulk of the domains are hosted on the Ovidio Limited nameservers. It should be interesting to see where they go. Marchex/ultsearch and a number of other "direct navigation" firms have also been detected operating in .eu ccTLD. I've been writing about the whole .eu fiasco for some time on blog.whoisireland.com and the articles on Marchex and others will appear later today.
