Own about 3,000 6n.com sold about 800 so far in the last couple of weeks, including many "0 and 4", most between 100-400 each. What is crazy all my highest traffic one's that are parked at Sedo all have "0 and "4". I think the whole theory of "0 and 4" are bad numbers are Bullshit! Here is traffic stats this month, not huge, but all the biggest have "0 and 4"

I see the exact same thing with my 100+ 6n.coms parked at DNS which really surprised me to be honest.

Many of the highest traffic domains are with 0/4 in them, often comfortably seeing more visits than the ones without 0/4 in them believe it or not. When I noticed this I just didn't know what to make of it, but the stats still show this to be true weeks on.

It's hard to ignore that 6n with 0/4 in them overall sell for less at auction but as you say the traffic stats tell a different story entirely.

The numbers clearly don't lie. I think someone has created all this conversation about 0s and 4s and have no real proof. Who knows if Chaomi is being manipulated to keep pricing down? We just don't know. If 4 was such a bad number, why would one of the largest platforms be using it (4.CN)?

All the 6n.com that drop are being backordered for at least $49.95, almost all have "0 and 4", and almost all are being bought by Chinese buyers. Basically the floor for the very worst one's are at least $49.95, but many sell for over $100 including many of mine did on Namejet, so there is lot's of wrong info out there of "0 and "4" are not valuable

I think the sales history backs up the fact that numerics with '4' in them generally sell for less, with some exceptions. Zeros not as bad unless they are at the front, but even exceptions there too.

I am surprised 6N are getting any traffic, maybe it's bot traffic from lookups, who knows. But I don't think the whole rise of numeric domains in the past year is due to any traffic they get. It's more about shortness, patterns, number meaning, etc.

I wouldn't say not valuable, but generally they are less valuable. Replace the 4's and 0's in almost any numeric with 8's, 6's or 9's and it is probably a lot more valuable. Again I'm sure there are exceptions.

I agree, similar to "v" or "a, e, i, o, u" with llll.com 1 year ago I was told those were worthless, now they sell for at least $200

Have said it many times and so I'll say it again: It's an issue of "less value"... not "value-less".

IF you can pick a name that has no 0 or 4 for the same price as a name with 0, 4 or both... you always pick the name without 0/4 unless there's a pattern that offsets the 0/4. All things are definitely NOT equal.

For example, a savvy name investor would likely not choose 368892 over 364492 or 346501 if they were all priced the same. ;) Certainly, then, for 6N with 0's and 4's to maintain worth, all the other names have to be worth a noticeable amount more.

Would likely choose?

4 is a bad number in china. but 4.cn is short, so, it still is a good domain:) But, if you compare 4.cn with 8.cn, 8.cn is more valuable than 4.cn:)

The notion to avoid 4 and 0 is 100% true - the Chinese stay away from it.

The only stipulation is that this notion is cast aside once a namespace is bought out, and is showing strong value.

So yes, NOW you will see interest in 0 and 4 in 6N, whereas six months ago it was avoided like the plague. This was a time where you could get multiple significant pairs of numbers (without 0 & 4) in the same 6N for $30 USD - $60 USD. Now you wouldn't see a DN like that for less than $1000.

So as value increases, so does the value of 6N's with 4 and 0 in them.

Would you turn down 324.com just because it had a 4 in it? Of course not!

However , that is because 3N namespace has such a high value that this domain could be worth low six figures at minimum.

Conversely, how does 0250439.com sound to you? You wouldn't even pay regfee for that right now would you? That's because the 7N namespace just isn't at the point where 4's and 0's have value.

I agree with @DomainVP to a large degree.
That being said the OP has personally sold a ton of 6n.coms to chinese buyers and you see at auctions they are buying them up left, right and center. However, much of that i'm sure has to do with the points you make.

Nevertheless, it is still somewhat interesting that type in traffic seems to be higher on the 6n.coms with 0/4 in them which i'm seeing as well consistently now for a while. Not sure what we can infer from that.

just saying!

Just a hypothesis... It may be that there are a lot of Chinese buyers just typing them in, seeing what is available and what isn't - and they know the preferred ones are taken already so they are exploring the namespace.

Their population is huge, and most people might not know how to use WhoIS, or scan a Zone file - so direct navigation may be how they are searching for domains.

This is their domain revolution after all, so I can imagine that most of the population is relying on direct navigation checks on domains.

Just a hypothesis.

If you look at the numbers posted by OP, most of them have 88 in six digits.. thats the reason for traffic.

I can confirm that some of the 6n's i'm seeing bigger traffic on are not double 8 type names but others such as:

059184.com - 76 a month
311710.com - 73 a month
457893.com - 86 a month
732890.com - 72 a month
etc.

I was thinking maybe some names have particular meanings in China, but i'm really not too sure why/what/where etc. I can only say what i'm seeing, and even if some of this traffic are bots it's still a strange one IMO.

There are also a lot of 54 and 84 which are considered good numbers.
