What is it worth now in your estimate?

I think it's quite senseless domain name in 2009 and now both. What's connection between 5 and .org? :) How many "5"(only number) organizations in world?

    its 1N in .ORG
    its obviously valuable ..
i would say reseller would buy it easily in mid to high four figure ..
Enduser can pay mid five figure ...

Q have any connection with ORG???
its sold in 500k USD ..
    Thanks

I agree. But Q is letter, and it's much more connected with organizations than "5". Is there established project in 1.org, 2.org, 3.org, 4.org, etc? I think no.
Why to pay so much, 5 figures then? Looks like hype.

.org is not connected just with organizations today.
    it was before though

which I guess explains why it only sold for a ridiculous 2k ...10 yrs ago.

You'd be suprised! Numbers are part of branding, for NGOs too.

I am sure there are one like 5 trees or 5 principles etc.

And then 5 fits great for non-profit by itself as well, for example, with the meaning of quality, reviews etc.

I'd say it's worth mid 5 figures for legit enduser.
4 figure for casual user or reseller..

If it fetched $2,300 post recession...I'd say it would do more on the rebound.

I thought there were only 6 single character domains in the original TLD's.
    q.com
    x.com
    z.com
    i.net
    q.net
    x.org

But seems like more .org have since been assigned, such as a.org (autism) and w.org (wordpress)

    Comparable 1N sales are useful:
    1.xyz 181,720 USD 2016-04-24 West.cn
    9.xyz 175,166 USD 2015-12-21 West.cn
    8.top 172,758 USD 2018-05-22 Jiangsu Bangning
    9.am 169,000 USD 2017-03-20 RegNest.com
    6.xyz 125,000 USD 2015-11-22 FindYourDomain
    8.co 115,000 USD 2015-03-01 Heritage Auctions
    6.top 93,600 USD 2015-12-06 Jiangsu Bangning
    8.xyz 81,741 USD 2015-09-11 4.CN
    1.top 80,712 USD 2015-04-22 eName
    9.top 80,669 USD 2015-04-20 eName
    8.top 79,000 USD 2015-10-18 Jiangsu Bangning
    5.co.uk 67,611 USD 2013-12-25 NameJet
    6.am 45,000 USD 2016-09-30 Private

Note that .org extension is more valuable than all extensions above (.xyz, .top, .am, .co, .co.uk) and thus it can be easily seen that 5.org is a high value 6 figures domain.

That's a killer idea for NGOs. You just gave out a million dollars idea and ultimately raised the value of this name to mid to high six figure.

I hope whoever owns it, sees this and raises the price accordingly :xf.wink:

Or develop the site and engage in partnerships with charities and takes a "small" admin fee per donation :greedy:

I am available as a partnership development consultant (if this a thing?) :xf.grin:
